Fast Forward Simulation for Volvo Aero/GKN
caseVolvo Aero, which is now GKN Aerospace, develops and supplies components and systems for the world's largest aircraft manufacturers. In collaboration with General Electric, the company also develops the RM12 engine used by the Swedish fighter Gripen.
Volvo Aero required an enormous amount of simulations in conducting a prioritized development project. Because the volume of simulations was so large and the results so important for subsequent processes, the time for each calculation was a key factor. Each minute lost would cost the company enormous sums. There wasn’t any room for “bad” simulations either.
EDRMedeso spent two months refining and optimizing the models. The payoff came quickly.
