The opportunity
Computer-based product simulation has seen powerful development, and with the digital revolution, the demands on virtual product development increase. All product development companies must now change how they work to remain competitive and ensure their future success. In this role, you will work to understand how customers work, what they want to achieve and how they can solve their problems.
- In the role of Electronic Engineer Intern, you will be a trusted advisor in sales and implementation of software and methods, but also work on research and development. In collaboration with customers and partners, you will:
- work with the simulation tools for electronic engineering within the Ansys portfolio,
- work with the electronic team to deliver our service offering which focuses on accelerating and building customer competence. This includes method development, automation, software customization, cloud computing setup, training, and research,
- develop and deliver innovative solutions based on simulation products,
- work as a trusted advisor for simulation driven product development,
- actively engage with customers to solve their design challenges.
What we’re looking for
We want to hear from you if you are completing a BEng in Electronic Engineering or similar and are looking for an internship. The right candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, be results driven and customer focused and have a strong desire to learn new things every day. We particularly want to speak to candidates with any of the following:
- an understanding of the workflows and processes related to electrical / electronic circuit and PCB layout design, manufacturing processes and common testing requirements
- solid practical and theoretical grasp on signal integrity, power integrity, EMC topics/concepts, and lifetime analysis knowhow
- familiarity with ANSYS simulation tools (e.g. HFFS, SIwave, Q3D, TwinBuilder and others)
- a scripting/coding background or a strong desire to learn this skill
- familiarity with other simulation tools and finite element analysis
