News Release – EDRMedeso and PTC announce partnership to accelerate digital twin technology
Västerås; Sweden– November 01, 2018 – PTC (NASDAQ: PTC), a global leader in IoT, and EDRMedeso, a trusted partner in simulation for industrial companies, today announced a partnership providing customers with easy, fast and reliable deployment of digital twin technology across Northern Europe (UK, Nordic and Baltic region). The use of digital twin technology is still at an early stage for most companies. However, with the new partnership, both PTC and EDRMedeso expect to accelerate product design and development by enabling companies to explore new revenue streams and develop new business models through these advanced solutions.
EDRMedeso has provided industrial companies with tools, consultancy and support within simulation for more than 30 years. The new partnership with PTC will leverage the offerings on digital twin solutions and applications.
“Together with some of our most valued customers, we have already created numerous digital twin applications, and we find that our customers are starting to reap the benefits and building new business models around it. To take the next step and create fully commercial applications, we need a strong IoT platform, and PTC is a leader in this space according to major business intelligence companies like Forrester, Gartner and IDC. Therefore, we look forward to adding their excellence in software to our existing portfolio,” says Niklas Lindwall, CEO at EDRMedeso.
The best software combination
EDRMedeso already works with one of the most prominent simulation software companies in the world, ANSYS, and so does PTC. This is one of the reasons why the two companies are a perfect match and have joined forces.
Speeding up the process and ensuring higher quality
The process of creating and deploying digital twins has been complicated and lengthy. But that is about to change. EDRMedeso will build digital twin solutions based on ANSYS software that will run on the PTC ThingWorx platform, in order to speed up the process without compromising quality.
“The combination of PTC’s software and our knowledge and value-add, will dramatically speed up the process of creating and deploying digital twin solutions and applications. Before this platform, we have built everything from scratch for each digital twin. However, with the ThingWorx platform, we will utilize a drag’n’drop-like approach based on templates. This is much faster, and the result will be more reliable and have a higher quality,” said Niklas Lindwall, CEO of EDRMedeso.
“We have recognized EDRMedeso as a frontrunner in deploying digital twins. Their long-term knowledge and capabilities within simulation and deployment of ANSYS software solutions will be an important asset for us moving forward, and we are excited about this partnership and what it can do for the deployment of digital twin technology in Northern Europe,” said Georges Millet, Vice President Channel Sales EMEA PTC.
Since 1986, EDRMedeso has provided the market with leading tools for product simulation and BIM. As a complete partner, we also offer support, training and consulting services for these tools.
