Explore the latest in Ansys Discovery 2025 R1, featuring model prep enhancements, improved electronics cooling simulations, and cloud capabilities to solve thousands of simulations in minutes.
Ansys Discovery 2025 R1 introduces powerful new features that enhance the entire simulation workflow, enabling users to streamline model preparation, have increased confidence in simulation results, and accelerate design space exploration.
Overview
With each release, Ansys Discovery continues to enhance and add new features, making it the go-to software for geometry modeling and preparation, simulation-driven design, and efficient design space exploration. This release includes features that enhance the simulation workflow, focusing on three main areas: model preparation, thermal management, and accelerated design exploration. Model preparation for simulation is more efficient in detecting sweep meshing feasibility during preparation and improvements in creating and organizing beams and shells. Have more confidence in simulation results with significant enhancements for thermal management simulations, especially in applications like electronics cooling and heat exchangers, with new and improved features like GPU-based meshing with automated local sizing controls and DC electric conduction to evaluate voltage drop, current density, and Joule heating across various components. Push the boundaries of design exploration even further with the ability to solve thousands of simulations in minutes by sending, or ‘bursting’, to the cloud to understand design limits and tradeoffs, calculate response curves, perform sensitivity studies, and optimize models for peak performance.
Check out some of the top new features we will cover in this webinar below.
What attendees will learn
Efficient Model Prep
- Evaluate model bodies for sweep meshing compatibility, ensuring accurate simulation preparation and reducing the need for repeated adjustments.
- Create new beams with standard cross-sections and sizes from scratch, and save them into a custom filtered library, which enables easy and efficient assignment of frequently used beams.
Accurate Thermal Management
- Fault-tolerant GPU-based automated meshing reduces memory use, accelerates accurate mesh generation, and automatically refines critical areas with local fidelity controls for improved accuracy.
- Advancements in GPU-based meshing and a new capability to simulate conjugate heat transfer (CHT) of faceted geometries now allow efficient simulation of complex heat exchanger designs, overcoming previous barriers in generating high-quality meshes and solving models within practical timeframes.
Accelerated Design Exploration
- Set up and solve thousands of simulations in minutes with the new Burst to Cloud feature, seamlessly integrated into the interface. This accelerates parametric studies, enabling design space exploration, sensitivity studies, response curve generation, optimal design identification, and the creation of large simulation datasets to train predictive AI and meta-models like Ansys SimAI.
