Ansys and EDRMedeso in collaboration with Chalmers University, are excited to invite you to the Ansys Granta EduPack Workshop focused on Sustainability in Materials Engineering
The agenda of this workshop will address current trends in sustainability and the evolving field of materials science. Learn how educators can adapt their curriculum and methodologies to equip future engineers with the knowledge and tools necessary for sustainable development.
This workshop is designed for Educators, Professors, Lecturers and Teachers in the field of Materials Engineering who are incorporating sustainability into their teaching and research. Whether you’re looking to stay updated on the Ansys and Granta MI, or you’re eager to network and collaborate with fellow educators on sustainability initiatives, this workshop is tailored for you.

10:15–11:00 Basic EduPack functionality
Review and latest updates.
11:10–11:30 Database-specific presentations
Based on participant interests and levels.
11:30–12:00 A 30-minute roundtable discussion
A status update, current use and challenges in the field of materials and sustainability from participating Universities
12:00–13:00 Lunch
Networking over a catered lunch.
13:00–14:20 Hands-on Workshop
Deep dive into the use of and EduPack. Practical exercises with tips on teaching resources and live demos. Key themes include sustainability in design and materials science.
14-30–15:00 Wrap-up
Learn how Ansys tools and Granta MI are driving transformation of sustainability in teaching and engineering education.

Workshop Facilitators
Dr Claes Fredriksson - Ansys
Researcher in technology, materials technology, production technology.
Currently working as Lead Academic Development Manager at Ansys UK in Cambridge (Formerly known as Granta Design). Also, part-time Associate Professor of Materials Science at University West, Sweden, still active in engineering education and doing research on metal additive manufacturing. My background includes also a post-doc at Chalmers in the 1990’s. Areas of interest, outside of materials, include Pedagogy and Sustainability. I develop educational resources and train academics in using Software for materials-related applications from the office in Cambridge UK since 2013.
I am the main organizer of the Annual International Materials Education Symposia (IMES), at Clare College, Cambridge, as well as the corresponding North American Materials Education Symposia (NAMES), recently hosted by University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
