On the Track to Gold

Skeleton: considered the world’s first sliding sport, skeleton was started in the Swiss town of St. Moritz in the late 1800s. Today, behind every split-second decision, every perfectly timed movement, every world-beating run, the same technology as is used in Formula 1 racing, is at play on the icy runs, where athletes can reach speeds of up to 140km per hour.

From optimizing equipment performance, to understanding forces, aerodynamics, and motion, simulation technology is helping athletes push the limits of what’s humanly possible.

We caught up with Richard Bromley from EDRMedeso customer Bromley Technologies, along with Belgium’s Kim Meylemans and Brazilian Nicole Silveira in Lillehammer, to talk about their partnership and what it really takes in a sport where every hundredth of a second counts.
